Flooding: Where does this week's rainfall stack up historically?

February 22, 2018

After receiving just 4.94" of precipitation during the months of November, December, January, and the first 17 days of February *combined*, Champaign-Urbana received 5.39" in just the last four days. More in four days than the past four months!

Another way of looking at this - The three-day period from February 19th to 21st now ranks as the #8 wettest three-day stretch ever recorded in Champaign-Urbana, going back to 1888. The 3.18" that fell on February 21st alone, makes it the 20th wettest single day ever recorded in C-U, again dating back to 1888.

Another 1.5" to 2" of rain is forecast to fall in Champaign-Urbana this weekend, with the heaviest falling Saturday and Saturday night.
